Go Redwings!!!

For those of you that don't know, Marty is a HUGE Redwings fan! And for those of you that don't know what a redwing is....count your blessings! :) LOL Living here in Dallas, everyone is a Stars fan. So, when we went to watch the Stars/Redwings game at Buffalo Wild Wings with Marty's softball team and their families.....let's just say it was interesting. ;) Marty's mom brought back some Redwings outfits/jerseys for the kids on her last trip to Michigan since you can't find anything of theirs here. Well, Marty of course dressed the kids up in their Redwing stuff and off we went to BWW. No, I don't have a Redwings shirt. Guess I should get one, or maybe I'll accept the fact that we live in Dallas and get a Stars shirt! LOL Anyhow, Marty taught Maddie how to say "Go Redwings!" and so she did on his every prod! She LOVED it!! And we kept getting stares from strangers as the only Redwings fans in the place. Luckily Marty had Maddie there with her cute little pink jersey, otherwise there might have easily been some rowdiness going on. They all thought it was pretty cute that Maddie so easily chanted what her father taught her, even though she didn't know who in the world the Redwings were from anything. It made me start to think about the future and how she won't always be so willing to do what her mom and dad do. So, I am thankful that even though I am sometimes overwhelmed when she copies my EVERY move and gets right under foot to "do it with you, mommy," that I have these moments in their lives now. I am thankful and lucky that I am the one they are looking to for direction and guidance. I pray that I do the "right" thing for them. :) For they will only be little and impressionable from Marty and me for so long.

Mother's Day 2008

So, this was our Mother's Day celebration lunch. We went to church that morning and then went to lunch at T.G.I.Friday's with my mom, dad, Aunt LaLa, great granny Ruth, and Marty's mom (Mimm). We had a wonderful server who was very attentive and patient with great granny! She can certainly be a handful and practically demands HOT coffee the moment we are seated. She's always loving someone to fuss over her, so seeing that it was mother's day, the server was extra attentive to us mothers. Of course, having baby Isaac there for her to coo over was nice also. He's definitely her favorite little dude around. And it's a good thing that he gives her plenty of smiles in return.

Anyhow, all in all, we had a good lunch and can always count on Aunt LaLa to have her camera at the ready. So, these are some pictures from our lunch. Pardon our messy little princess Maddie with spaghetti all over her face. Luckily Mimm had the wherewithall to put a napkin over her dress! Thank you Mimm!!! We gave the grandmothers all pictures of the kids together as we haven't had them done since Isaac was born. I'll upload some of them when we get the link from the silly store. I've called and they still have yet to upload them. OH well.

You're Gonna Miss This

Well, I've been pretty overwhelmed with life in general lately! I know that probably every mother has gone through this at one point in time where you just feel like every day is filled with being tugged at, spit up on, and full of yelling at your kids. Well, it seems like my whole week has been this way. I find myself anxiously awaiting Marty's arrival home from work just so I can go to the bathroom by myself! Sometimes I even think to myself, "it will be so nice when my kids go to school just so I can have a break." I can't believe I'm even admitting this! But anyhow, there is a light at the end of this depressing tunnel. I was adding music to my blog last night and found Trace Adkins new song called "You're Gonna Miss This" and I LOVE it! It completely made me realize how fast these babies really do grow up and before you know it, you're out of this stage in life and onto another. We are in this stage for a brief moment! I had to really stop and thank God for giving me such a wake up call and tell me that I should be thankful to even have kids to nag me. Or to have a little 2 year old that's dying to spend time with me so much that she even wants to go to the bathroom with me! I can't even say Marty wants to be with me that badly!!! :) I guess what I'm trying to say is that our children only have a short amount of time when being held by you fixes everything! This morning, for instance, Isaac woke up way earlier than we would've liked. I went in with a bottle and as I rocked him and fed him, he started to drift off to sleep. He even started smiling in his sleep, which is the most precious sight you could ever see. It struck me like lightning that this too shall pass.
